If you live in a hard water area you will know hard water can effect your appliances as well as your skin.

  • Damage from limescale can reduce the lifespan of appliances.

  • Blocked pipes that make your heating inefficient.

  • Limescale on shower screens as well as taps and shower heads.

  • Irritation to sensitive skin.

  • More cleaning time around the home.

  • Scum residue around your bathtub.

Eczema and Had Water
Eczema and Hard Water

New research has revealed the link between hard water and skin conditions like eczema. Hard water damages the skin, raising the risk of infection and potentially contributing to the development of eczema. Softened water is much kinder to your skin and could reduce these negative effects. It could even lower the risk of skin conditions developing in the first place. Softened water also leaves your skin feeling soft and needing less chemicals and products.

After a two year study, Scientists at the University of Sheffield and King’s College London have found that hard water damages the skin, raising the risk of infection and potentially contributing to the development of eczema.

Minerals in hard water were shown to make skin more sensitive to irritation, but when researchers used a twin-tank water softener in their study they found that softened water could reduce these negative effects. It could even lower the risk of eczema developing in the first place. For people living with chronic skin conditions this research could be a game changer.

By removing the potentially harmful minerals found in hard water, you and your family can benefit from pure, softened water which is better for the condition of your skin and your hair.

You may have noticed the difference in the condition of your hair when you've travelled between hard and softened water areas.

The lack of minerals in soft water means you can stop using harsh chemicals on your hair. Softened water is much more compatible with organic products, for example. You will also find you need less of each product to get your hair feeling clean and soft, so you'll avoid product build up too!

You will also use 50% less soap and shampoo to produce a much better lather, finding your hair to be shinier and more manageable.

Improved efficiency

One of the main ways soft water helps you to save money in your home is by improving the efficiency of your heating systems. Over time, the build up of hard water minerals in the pipes around your home can leave them corroded and constricted, making it difficult for water to pass through them efficiently.

Longer life appliances

Any appliance you buy for your home is an investment. By installing a TwinTec S3 water softener, you protect that investment, because soft water is much kinder on your appliances than hard.

This is due to the mineral build up which exists in hard water. These minerals cause corrosion in the internal workings of your appliances. If you live in a hard water area, one example you'll see of this is the inside of your kettle, where hard water causes limescale and corrosion to the heating element.

With soft water, your appliances are protected from the abrasive minerals and they work more effectively and more efficiently for longer. This means you save money on replacing your appliances, and they live longer.
